Join us for what is supposed to be one of the first beautiful spring Saturdays for a free chocolate and wine tasting at Cecile’s in McLean.

What better way to bask in the cherry blossom/ Easter excitement than to indulge in a little luxury on a Saturday afternoon?

We will be bringing fresh, delicious samples of our homemade truffles and Cecile’s will be pouring some great wines.

And, because we are on the eve of Easter (a creative holiday for us chocolatiers), we will also have special Easter boxes and treats – perfect for you to bring as a gift to your Easter events!

We are co-hosting a Valentine’s Day tasting with Weygandt Wines that has all the potential to turn from a regular tasting into a fabulous soiree.

We are bringing tons of fresh chocolate to sample and plenty to buy. Weygandt is opening 6 (6!) different champagnes. Love will definitely be in the air!

Weygandt Wines is right outside the Cleveland Park Metro at 3519 Connecticut Avenue, NW.

Our event will take place Saturday, February 13 from 12-5 pm. Be there!

The Science of Chocolate – Talk and Free Tasting – Thursday, Feb 11!

Come join us at Reiter’s Books at the corner of 20th and K on Thursday, Feb 11 at 6:30 pm for our talk on the Science of Chocolate.

Yes, we are afraid of looking less intelligent than the fabulous and scientific clientele at Reiter’s, but we do know our chocolate.

Come for the talk and demo (demo with chocolate, people!) and stay for the FREE chocolate tasting. You’ll also be able to purchase our chocolates at the event. Be there at 6:30 for the tasting- our tasting runs until 8 pm.

First of all, Happy New Year from Double Premium Confections! We think the best way to celebrate is with good chocolate and good friends. We hope you will have an amazing year!

To celebrate and mark the new year, we are offering a holiday collection of chocolates.

We have both 9 and 18 piece boxes for sale. Our boxes include our winter favorites like cinnamon, hazelnut, and coffee, fruit flavors including raspberry and cranberry, and our unique and more exotic flavors including earl grey and egg nog.

Each 9 piece box sells for $14 and each 18 piece box sells for $24. For our customers who purchase three or more boxes, we will include a 12 piece box of our sea salt caramels (a customer favorite) for free. Have ideas for special orders or event catering? Just send me an e-mail- we can make just about any request happen!

If you would like to order, just send me an e-mail at bailey@doublepremiumconfections.com letting me know how many boxes you would like. Give me 48 hours (possibly even sooner) and you will have them delivered to your door, free of charge. We can only offer this free delivery in DC, but can ship anywhere in the US for a small charge of $7.95.

Thanksgiving Boxes Available Now!

We are offering a special box of chocolates for Thanksgiving- an 18-piece box with 3 each of the following 6 flavors:

Pumpkin Pie – We combine real pumpkin and fresh spices mixed with creamy milk chocolate (a customer favorite)
Cherry – We use real cherries to flavor dark chocolate ganache and blend it with dried cherries before covering it with dark chocolate
Egg Nog- We blend white chocolate ganache mixed and spices to recreate egg nog almost exactly, then cover it in milk chocolate
Hazelnut- We grind hazelnuts to flavor milk chocolate ganache, then add chopped hazelnuts before hand dipping the truffles in milk chocolate and covering them in bits of hazelnut
Cranberry Sauce – We reduce cranberries to mix them with dark chocolate ganache and then add ginger and other thanksgiving spices.
Early Grey Tea – We use real tea and mix it with a dark chocolate ganache- a perfect pairing with wine.

Please join us at Weygandt Wines -3519 Connecticut Avenue NW on Saturday, November 21 from 12-4 pm!

We will be handing out our chocolates along with wines selected by the experts at Weygandt to bring out the best flavors in both. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday and support two local small businesses (ok, so I might be biased).

We will also be previewing and selling our Thanksgiving chocolates by the box. Come and check it out!
